Breathing Through Grief: Learning to Live Again

My life was full of color, warmth, and love — until it changed in the blink of an eye. When my mom passed away from melanoma, grief hit me like a tidal wave. I held my breath, swung from a fragile string like a piñata, and struggled to find solid ground. Through pranayama, rebirthing, and Conscious Connected Breathwork (CCB) training, I’ve been learning to breathe again, to open to life, and to move forward step by step — carrying her memory with me while finding hope, presence, and love in the world once more.

What you wear to a Conscious Connected Breathwork (CCB) session matters more than you might think. Breathwork is a deeply somatic experience, and anything that restricts your body can limit your breath and your ability to go deep.

Loose, comfortable clothing, soft natural fabrics, and non-restrictive tops allow the diaphragm and lungs to move freely. Avoid tight waistbands, underwire bras, heavy jewelry, strong perfumes, and even high ponytails — small discomforts become amplified when you’re lying down and breathing continuously.

Think of your outfit as a container for your experience. When your body feels safe and free, your breath can do the rest.
